Ft. Lauderdale, FL – Lazzara Yachts premiered the groundbreaking LSX 92, a new floating Showacase and an updated LSX 75 at the 2008 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
As the sun was setting on a mild fall day a crowd of media and V.I.P. gathered dockside at the Bahia Mar Yachting Center for a glimpse of Lazzara's incredible new display and a peek at the 92 foot yacht draped under black cloth. It was Wednesday, October 29th, the eve of the 40th annual Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show.
The guests were welcomed into Lazzara's mobile Showcase for cocktails and hors a d'oevres. The Showcase that Lazzara designed is essentially a custom built barge, with a full kitchen, commissary, private screening room, restrooms, VIP Suite, storage, and mechanical rooms below, with a two story fiberglass, glass and steel showroom above deck. The main deck boasts waterfalls, a VIP lounge and an interactive area with touchscreen interfaces, video and simulators that go to great lengths to educate vistors about Lazzara and their yachts. The upper deck has private offices and both interior and exterior balconies for a bird's eye view of the event and show.
After allowing guests to take in the showcase and mingle, Dick Lazzara stood atop one of the grand stairways and addressed the crowd gathered below. He said that Lazzara is entering a new era of both building and selling yachts. The Showcase is a paradigm shift for the company and allows Lazzara to "...take the boatshow to the people, anytime, anywhere." Lazzara said the new presentation would also allow the yacht builder to partner with other luxury brands to sponsor and host events other than boatshows. He then invited everyone back out on the dock for the main event.
Dick and Volvo Penta, President, Goran Gummeson both spoke about the development of the LSX 92 and the implementation of Volvo's new IPS II drive system, of which the 92 has the first four hand built units in the world. Like the LSX 75 before it, the 92 had a 10-month concept-to-launch timeline. The audience marveled as the veil was pulled off and entire dock exploded in a fanfare of lights that would have rivaled any rock concert. The spectacular LSX 92 made her grand debut, as two spokesmodels in evening wear sat on the private water terrace of the yacht sipping champagne.
The event, Showcase and LSX 92 were and continue to be the talk of the show!
